<strong>Danny</strong> <strong>Pogue</strong>
Danny Pogue Board Member/Operations
Major (Retired) Dan Pogue is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and was commissioned into the Air Force in 1987. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management of Human Resources from Southern Nazarene University; Master’s in Business Management and Leadership (with Honors) from Webster University and a Master’s of Information Technology Management (with Honors) from Webster University. Major Pogue served over 22 years as an Air Force officer with key assignments in Squadron, Group, Wing, and Major Command staff positions and as a C-130 Instructor and Evaluator Navigator accumulating over 3,200 flight hours while traveling to 53 different countries. He retired as the Director of World-wide Aeronautical Routings at Scott AFB, IL. Dan served the United States in conflicts such as Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Global War on Terrorism, and Operation Iraqi Freedom earning numerous awards and decorations in service to the United States His military awards and decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/ Bronze Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal along numerous other awards. Dan currently works as Lead Systems Engineer with MITRE Corporation, a Federally Funded Research and Development Company (FFRDC) located in San Antonio, TX. After military retirement, Dan worked in the aviation industry for companies such as TYBRIN, Inc., Lockheed-Martin, and NCI, Inc. Dan has served on the board of three different Not-for-Profit companies and has worked in the Aviation Industry in both military and civilian industries for over 30 years. Dan has also served in leadership positions at two different universities in administrative roles. Dan is married to the former Mandy Wilson for over 32 years. They have three children, Zach, Josh, and Hanna, two beautiful bonus daughters, Crysta and Kalei, and an awesome grandson, Ethan. Dan started working with Compass KC in 2011 and joined the Board in 2014. Dan was the initial director of the Bootcamp experience where first year Compass KC students begin their journey. Dan enjoys aviation, reading, golf, and watching his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
<strong>Jeff</strong> <strong>Boone</strong>
Jeff Boone Board Member/Business Facilitator
Jeffery B. (“Jeff”) Boone Attended the University of Central Missouri Majoring in Criminal Justice Administration. He is a respected sales and marketing professional with executive-level management experience in a wide range of industries. He has worked in consumer product goods, athletic recruitment, and the health care and wellness industries. A dynamic, engaged leader, Jeff began his current sales and marketing career path with Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri. For 23 years Jeff rose through the ranks, from sales representative to key account executive and national market manager, attaining the position of regional manager for the company before departing in 2009. During his tenure, Jeff was recognized for leading the #1 sales division in the nation (five times) and received the top national sales leadership award (four times). He is also the recipient of a national award for creating a diversity program for the sales management team. More recently, Jeff developed a new health care brand for the North Texas market, and executed the marketing plan which gained recognition and influenced the recruitment and retention of physicians and other staff, as well as patients. This successful launch resulted in the optimization of a state-of-the-art medical facility to capacity, ahead of schedule. Jeff approaches all his interactions – professional as well as philanthropic – with the goal of bringing out the best in others, by recognizing each individual’s talents and abilities. He is a relationship-builder and puts people first – a servant-leader with a heart for others and an eye for opportunities to influence positive change. An avid horseman, outdoorsman and hunter, Jeff is married with five adult children and enjoys spending time with his family, in addition to coaching football, volunteering at his church, working out at the gym, and cycling. Jeff has been involved with The Compass Experience in Kansas City since 2015 and served as a board member this past year. In this role, Jeff mentors young men and women as they navigate the first steps of a career in the business world. Other volunteer affiliations include Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Healing Pathways.
<strong>Deron</strong> <strong>Lock</strong>
Deron Lock Board Member
Deron Lock is a graduate of Kansas State University where he majored in Agricultural Economics. Upon graduation he worked for Continental Grain and Koch Industries where he worked both in domestic and international trading and sales. Moving through the Koch organization he lived in Chicago, London England and Lexington, KY before buying a majority share holding in a manufacturing company in Wichita, KS. He is currently president of those manufacturing companies under Industrial Ventures Incorporated. Deron has served on other councils and boards in addition to a board member at Compass Experience. He is currently on the Rose Hill Jr Football Board where he serves as vice president. Deron has coached hundreds of kids in junior sports since the late 90’s. Deron’s wife Sherye is a retired schoolteacher and they have two grown sons and a daughter in law. Sherye and their sons are also graduates of Kansas State. Deron enjoys reading about history economics and current events but would like to spend more time travelling and golfing. Deron and Sherye currently live on a small ranch outside of Wichita, KS.
<strong>Greg</strong> <strong>Couch</strong>
Greg Couch Board Member
MG (Retired) Couch is a graduate of Kansas State University and was commissioned in 1979. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Industry from Kansas State University; Master of Science from Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. MG Couch has served over 35 years as a Soldier and his key assignments include numerous staff positions and command at Company, Battalion, Brigade level and higher. He retired after serving as the Chief of Staff, United States Transportation Command, Scott AFB, IL. His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), the Army Commendation Medal (5 awards), the Army Achievement Medal (3 awards), the Iraqi Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal . MG Couch retired from Civil Service as the Director for Programs and Services, at the United States Disciplinary Barracks, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He was responsible for education and physical plant operations of the prison.

Bill Snyder Founder
Bill Snyder from a coal-mining town in Ohio/West Virginia area, left for college at 17 years old. He earned degrees from Central Bible College and Assembly of God Theological Seminary and for much of his professional career worked in many cities as a vocational minister, and director of college ministries in the Midwest region. His true passions are all tied to leadership, mentoring students, serving the under-served and equipping the next generation to be successful in business, in relationships and in life. He founded The Compass Experience in 2012 and this is the platform he’s made those passions a reality while partnering with other organizations and individuals who share this passion to truly impact the nation, one community, one student at a time.
